Member Member Info and Wed Nite Results
Hi golfers, here's the current info on the member member and also Wed nites results. Oh one other thing, the mens' club is helping the Mukilteo Boys and Girls Club fund raiser again this year. They will be having a golf tournament again at Harbour Pointe and we'll be taking pledges for the number of holes KC and his group can complete in a day. You can make a flat pledge or pledge so much a hole. Also there will be putting contest, where some lucky person will get to putt for $5000.00. Well be selling tickets for that function also.All of this will be happening on the first weekend of June. So be ready to help any you can. We raised over $4000.00 last year.

Message Fom the Prez
Ok everybody so I got a little distracted on the last posting and forgot to post the Prez 's message so here it is in all it's glory. Please post any questions you might have in the comment area at the bottom of this posting just click on comments.
President’s Message
I’d like to begin this Men’s Club update by acknowledging the fantastic work of Keith Coleman, Lance Kilbride, Ken Reimers, and the entire greenskeeping crew. The course is firming up nicely and carts can leave the paths. The greens are smooth and fast, and holding shots, and bunkers are being topped off yet again. Make sure to thank the crew for giving us the best playground a bunch of big kids could ask for!
In my inaugural message, I outlined some of our goals for the year. I’m pleased to report that we are on track. Our Tournament Handicap system is accomplishing our goal of bringing up net scoring and improving the competitive balance of our tourneys. Our percentage of net over par scoring is right on the USGA target of 75%-80%.
Hopefully you have noticed that the tee placements are consistently closer to the actual monuments. To be more precise, the tees are being set up so that the overall course length is within just a few yards of the rated distance. This approach allows some variety in the course set-up while preserving the integrity of the course rating, and thus the handicaps.
We have listened to feedback from membership and responded with a couple of new tournament formats. The All-Gross Flighted (ManGolf) Tournament was very successful with a full field and tightly contested flights. We’ll do it again! Coming soon – an All-Net Flighted Tournament – date TBD. Not sure about the nickname for this one.
In keeping with our mission to promote enjoyment for all participants, we have adopted a new Super Senior Division for all Men’s Club events. Players age sixty and over, at their option, may compete with the rest of the field while playing from the white tees (instead of the Member tees) using a modified white tee handicap. There has been discussion about players in this division being eligible to compete for skins and KPs, and we have decided to allow it in the spirit of friendly competition. As always, your feedback is welcome.
Your Board of Directors has approved a few other important changes: First, Wednesday competitions are now Men’s Club events and are governed by the same rules of competition. The lower of one’s Tournament Handicap or EZ Links Handicap will be used. Players may “cash” one time as a Wednesday guest, but must be a paid member to cash in subsequent events. Non-members may not compete for skins or KPs.
Second, in order to participate in a Major Event, golfers must have competed in other non-major Men’s Club events according to the following schedule: 1 non-major prior to the first Major, 2 non-majors prior to the second Major, 3 before the third, and 4 before the final. Wednesday competitions will count as qualifiers. We’d like to get to know the winners of Men’s Club crystal!
Finally, a few reminders. The Handicap Committee will post all scores in events where a yellow scorecard is provided. In all other events, including Wednesdays, golfers must post their scores within 48 hours or they will forfeit any book money they won. Make sure you double-check and sign your scorecards as errors will result in forfeiture of winnings and unsigned cards will not be accepted. Post the correct score! If you are not familiar with Equitable Stroke Control (adjusting), please consult your Pro or a member of the Handicap Committee.

Players Championship and Weds Nite
Well the first Major of the year is over and we congratulate, Wayne Lauerman on the gross side, and Ken Macintosh on net side, way to go guys. I understand that play was pretty brutal over the weekend ,especially Saturday with the wind and rain. We would I like to thank all members who played,for their support and patience.
There have been a couple changes made by the board and confirmed by the golf shop. Starting with the Club Championship in Sept, all players will have to play in at least one Saturday men's club event to qualify to play in any club major tournament. Second all club members who are 60 and older can now compete in all tournaments and Wed Nite play from the Men's White Tee Box, with handicap adjusted accordingly.Hopefully this will help all 60 year olds and above to compete with the rest of the field.
