Member-Member FYI

Ok  guys the big weekend is almost upon us. Here's a few things you need to know.
First the practice round is included in your tournament fee, so make a tee time for Friday. Then after the round is over join in  the festivities, putting contest qualifying, chipping contest qualifying, no host Brats and Beer, and the Calcutta event. What you need to know about the Calcutta, is it will start at 5 PM and go until 9 PM Friday. There will be bid sheets for each team to bid. The winning bids for each team will be paid to Don Rashell by 7:15 am Sat. morning. Please bring cash for payment. If you bid and are successful on multiple bids or teams, then you are responsible for those bids. If  you don't win your own team's bid then you have the right to buy half the team back from the winning bidder on Sat. morning. YOU HAVE TO MAKE AT LEAST ONE BID ON YOUR TEAM IF YOU WANT TO BUY BACK HALF YOUR TEAM. I HOPE EVERYBODY UNDERSTANDS THIS.If you can not be there on Friday night then make arrangement with somebody to put a bid on your team in your name. Any teams that do not get a bid on the team, those teams will than be auctioned off right after the closing of the Calcutta.  There will be 3 nine hole matches within your division on Sat. and 2 nine matches on Sunday then the championship 9 hole. Putting  & Chipping contest finales will be Sat nite.. The weather is slated to be absolutely perfect so let have a great weekend!!!!!!!!!!

Club members, we're a month from the MEMBER-MEMBER TOURNAMENT  for this year and it's a tourney you don't want to miss. We've already gotten 43 teams signed up, with a maximum of 60 spots available. Those of you who haven't signed up yet need to get aboard soon.
This years' tourney promises to be the best yet. The board has made a few changes to this years event. There will be a putting contest and a chipping contest, with qualifying on Friday and Saturday. the finals to both of these contest will be Saturday nite at 7:30PM. The Calcutta will be on Friday nite, with the cut off at 8:30 PM. This year, any team that does not make a least one bid on their own team, will not be able to buy back half there team if they fail to get the winning bid. Also any teams that do not get any bids, will go up for a field auction immediately after the closing of the Calcutta.
The final nine play on Sunday will have a added feature. We will be running a per mutual betting prior to the start of the final nine. As last year, we hope to have a band playing again Saturday nite.

Wed nite posting

Ok golfers ,it's a new year and a new Wed nite play. We've already had violations of the nonposting Rule for Wed play. All golfers are required to post their own score for Wed nite within 48 hours or lose any monies they may have won that nite. We've been doing this for several years, so this is not new to our program. If you do not post in the require time, you will lose money. PLEASE POST EVERY WED NITE.

Wed nite Play

Ok all you legend golfers and you know who you are,it's time to pony up. We as a board and club, created the legend division so we could compete on a level playing field, so you don't have to give up any handicap strokes by playing in this division ( 60ty and older, white tees.)There'll be plenty of competition money in this division if all eligible players sign up to play, and we're all playing for the same side games. Lets have a great turnout for this division Wed nite.

Also the Master's Tournament starts this Wed nite.So please sign up to play. You need to play in four of six weeks, with best four weeks counting.Check the Wed nite schedule in your information packet. All comp fees taken in will be paid out. This is a points scoring tourney. Full handicap.

Thanks

FYI Opening Nite

Good Sunday Morning to you all, It's been awhile since my last posting, but alas a new computer tower  has finally made me relevant again. There's a few things you need to know or read about. First, opening Wed Nite is about here, Wed the 25 th of March. The golf shop would appreciate if you all could have your annual men's  club dues paid before then, it will greatly help them out and speed up sign in Wed Nite. Note; you will not be able to keep any comp. winnings if you're not signed up by that Wed Nite.
This will be the start of the new two division play for competition, the Open Division (green tees) and Legends Division (white tees). If you're 59 or younger, you will play in the Open Division with regular Handicap. If you're 60ty and older  you have options to play in the open div. w/o loss of Handicap strokes or play in the open Div. from the white tees less two strokes from your handicap, and finally, you can play in the legends div. (white tees), without loss of strokes. All golfers who are 60ty and older, can play in the Legends Div. with out loss of Handicap strokes, but competition will strictly be in that division. You'll be playing for your own competition fees. Both divisions will compete for the same side games,
As you may have already read in the news letter, Ron Monaco, our current editor is resigning. He's done a great job for Men's Club in putting this news letter out 3 or 4 times a year. The Club thanks you for your hard work. That being said, we are in great need of finding a club member who would like to take this task on, the Board would greatly appreciate the help. Ron said he would be willing to help the next editor to put out the next letter or two. We really need someone's help here, so if you would like to do this, please contact one of the board members, the golf shop, or e-mail me drashell@msn.com
Finally, Spanky's Draw will be next Friday the 20th. Tee times starting at 11:00 am, and then the Pro Am lottery for the coming season, for Caleb,Dave,Drew, and Keith, after golf that evening. Call the golf shop to sign up. Thanks for your time, hope to see you all soon   Big D
