Board Nominations and Rhodes Cup

Good Morning Harbour Pointe Mens Clubs, just a couple of things to let you know about. First, we're coming down the stretch in the Rhodes Cup points with several play dates to go to determine who will play in this year's tourney. A big point getter is the up coming Club Championship and President Cup on the 13th 14th of Sept.. This is a two day tourney, with 8 AM shot gun both days. Don't miss out on this opportunity to pick up some valuable points.  
Secondly this posting is to let you know that nominations for Mens Club Board is now open and will be until Oct 10 2014. There are three position up for election. This is a great time to throw your hat in the ring and make your thoughts and opinions heard. They are three year terms, meeting 4 to 6 times a year. This a great chance to help shape the future of the Club. There'll be a nomination box setting next to the Handicap computer. The elections will be held from Oct. 18 thru Sat 8th of Nov. (the first day of the Holiday Classic) and results will be announced during Sunday of  the Holiday Classic in Nov. 

HARBOUR POINTE PGA

Happy fourth of July members, We just recently crowned the  winners of our first Harbour Pointe Masters tourney. ( Odie Carter and Mike Lee). It was a great success for the first time out, with a very competitive tourney. We are planning  a Harbour Pointe PGA tournament starting Aug 13th during Wed nite play. Same Format  as the Masters' tourney, Except this time we'll have gross and net winners in each Div. ( Green Tees and White Tees). It'll be a points format played over six different Wed nites. You must play four rounds over the six weeks. Dates will be Aug 13th,Aug 20th, Sept 9,Sept17,Oct. 1st and Oct 8. Entry Fee will be $30.00.With pay out in cash, based on Division sign ups. There'will be a sign up sheet in the golf shop. Lets' get a lot guys to sign up and have a great new tournament.

Special Event---Buy in options

Member –Member players, of which there are 108 players. On Friday all day, there will be on going practice rounds with an option pot game. Friday afternoon around 5:00 PM, the putting contest will start. $10 per team per try, with the format being team alternate shot or putt. This will continue into Saturday afternoon. Also Friday nite from 7:00-9:00 pm all teams will be available for bid in a silent auction format. You can place bids on the team or teams you feel will win the tournament. The total sum collected will be paid out to the top 10 teams based on the Championship 9 hole final scores. If you don’t bid or don’t have the winning bid on your team, you will have first opportunity to purchase half of the team before the first matches begin on Saturday morning. If you do not buy at least half of your team, you will forfeit any possible auction winnings should your team make the final top ten.

  All auction bids on teams, will be paid to the tournament committee by 7:15 AM Saturday morning. Cash only will be accepted!!!!!!!!! Please check in at the Tournament committee table, after checking in at the golf shop.

   If you are not playing a practice round Friday, then by all means come to the coarse Friday afternoon and evening and take part in the fun. There will be some Free Adult beverages available.

   There will be several buy in options for each team during the weekend. Starting with $20/ player for side games on Fridays’ practice round. $20/player for daily honey pot (highest point earners for each day) Putting  contest $10/team for each turn on the putting course. Share the Love pot, $10/player, to share if one of your flight teams wins the Member-Member. Lastly money to pay for any auction teams you have bought. Please allow for these extra expenses if you get into any of these options.

Afternoon gentlemen, just a couple things to beware of this week. First , I need to remind everybody that YOU MUST POST WED NITE SCORES WITH IN 48 HRS OR LOSE ANY BOOK MONIES won that day. We've already had several members lose money for not posting within the time frame. This is not new policy, we've been doing this for several yrs now. Check your renewal folder for the info. Second, Wed the 28th is the last playing round for the on going Master tourney. So if you're in the tournament and you still have a round to go, be sure to play tomorrow.Lastly, the Member-Member is filling up,so make sure you sign up soon if want to play. The first 66 teams will play, and then we'll have a waiting list. Oh, one more thing, if you're interested in possibly help sponsoring this tourney, which you could use as a write off , please contact Scott Montgomery.Have a Great .   Big D

IMPORTANT MEMBER-MEMBER NEWS

Hey guys you need to read this info from the board!!! It follows other info out there on this year's MEMBER-MEMBER. YOU CAN NOT AFFORD TO MISS THIS EVENT. It will have something for everybody
Let us personally invite you to sign up for the Member-Member Championship, one of the most fun, competitive and lucrative events that we host.  This tournament is held June 27, 28 and 29 and is shaping up to be a spectacular event.

The board has just negotiated to bring in Titelist as the event supplier for our Tee prize.  In addition to Titelist equipment, they will have Footjoy shoe fitting system, current clothing lines and on-site club and ball fitting equipment to try.

In addition to your rounds of golf, your entry fee includes the following:  a Friday practice round  (optional); Titelist demo day, Calcutta parings silent auction and cocktail party; and a putting contest to end all putting contests.  The competition opens on Saturday with a 27 hold match play event.  Teams are flighted by handicap with competition among those in each flight.  The putting contest continues throughout the day.  Breakfast and lunch are provided and we have a live band for that night.  
The final 18 hole matches begin Sunday morning, with the winners of each flight and two highest point altenates among all flights, going on to a 9 hole two man best ball championship round.  Breakfast and a fabulous dinner will be provided.  See the flyer in the newsletter or the one posted in the club house for more details,also on MENS CLUB WEB SITE . This event fills up fast with the first 66 paid teams getting in. Be sure to find a member to be your partner.  The pro shop staff will assist you if you need a partner. Sign ups need to be done by June 16 2014

Wed Nite Opener

OK golfers,the Wed Nite Men's Club is only three days away.Hopefully by now, most of you guys have already renewed your membership, if not, be ready to do that Wed Nite.There'll be a lot of things happening that nite, the two man best ball comp., the 50/50 pot, drawings for extra prizes, sign up for the new Harbour Point Masters Tourney, which starts on April 2nd and played at the same time as the Wed Nite Comp. This is a 72 hole tournament for which you'll have five dates to get in four rounds. ( Apr 2nd,16th, 23rd, May 7th & 28th).We'll be taking sign ups with $30. cash on Wed Nite. The board will also be passing out membership folders and new bag tags. The restaurant also will have a great dinner planned for us after the round. So get the dust off those clubs and come out to the course and have some fun. FYI, we played for $100,000 official and unofficial moneys for all of last year,something to think about!!!!!!!!!!!  

You Need To Read This

Morning golfers,here's a few things you need to know in the coming month. As of March 1st you need to start posting all rounds of golf played. Both 9 hole rounds and rounds with 14 or more holes played. Next you have less than three weeks before opening Wed nite play to sign up or renew this years' membership. The golf shop and the men's club board are asking, if at all possible, to sign up earlier than opening nite to make things go easier for all concern that day. We're encouraging everyone to check the dates for the new Master tournament being played the sametime, on Wed Nite, and get signed up for this fun new tournament.It's only $30.00 for the four rounds and it's cash back in winning pay out. Two divisions (green and white tees) with full handicaps.You can call the Golf Shop to speed up the sign up process.A lot of you guys know my son Rob, well he's now writing golf articles for Golf Digest on line. He's written a couple articles which you can find on www.golfwrx.com. Take a look you might enjoy the website. Last, but not least, in 2013 the membership played for $100,000.00 worth of cash and book money, so get signed up and get your peace of the Rainbow.

Hey guys, just a short note. Membership renewals are going well, we've already added seven new members, which is great. all members, new and old, need to be signed up by March 26,for Wed nite mens club play and to be eligible for the new Harbour Point Masters tourney running concurrently with wed nite play. Check out the fliers at the course for the info. They have a sign up sheet at the front desk. This will be a 72 hole tournemnet, net points, two division,( Green and White tees )100 % handicap, $ 30 competition fee, cash payout to top four point earners and ties in each div.Play in four of five available dates. April 2nd,April 16th, April 23rd, May 7th, and May 28th.Your scores will count for regular Wed Nite play and for the Masters tourney. The New Year

Happy New Year guys, hope everyone had a great holiday season!! Tis the new year and Harbour Pointe is off and running.This year's board just recently met and elected new officers for the coming season. New board members this year are Scott Montgomery, Wally Nagle,and Dana Turner, welcome aboard.This years Prez will be Walker Martin, VP Don Rashell, Sec Wally Nagle,Tres Paul Arrington, Hdicp Oliver Oshiro,Tourney Chrm Steve Allison,New member rep Scott Momtgomery and Website Rep Dana Turner and Scott Weaver at large. We've already had our first Tourney of the year and it went well.The next tournament is the 18th of Jan. 10am shot gun Die Hard Open, two man nine hole scramble and alernate shot.Lets get a big turn out for this tourney. Membership renewals are due again,so please get your dues in as soon possible. The price is the same as last year.The new tournament schedule is out for this year with a few changes. Caleb sent out an E-mail showing the events please take note. One conflict this year will be the M-M which will be the same time as the South Kitsap tournament.Caleb was not aware that South Kitsap had moved their tounery back to the end of the month and after conferring with them about the conflict they choose not to move back to last years date.Caleb had already schedule an outside tournament for the previous weekend in June.Caleb brought this conflict to the board and after long debate and looking at dates before and after the current Member-Member date, the conflict would have to stand.Hopefully this will be the only year for the conflict. As you all know this is the best Tournament of year and even better this year,we hope those of you who play in the South Kitsap, can make a tough decision and play in this years Member-Member.
