Handicap Alert

Hi Guys, this alert is being brought to by Walker Martain, the Handicap Chairman and the Handicap committee. It's very important that you read this and understand it. It could very well effect alot of you guys.
To all Harbour Point men’s club members:

The following information is given to all members to insure that you are taking care to update all handicap systems you may be on and the resulting effect of not doing so which will result when playing in any Harbour Point Men’s club event. In addition to HPMC, many of you are members at country clubs, WSGA, Jorgenson’s golf, as well as out of state clubs, which maintain their own and separate handicap system from our club USGA system. For that reason it is incumbent on you to make sure that with each system all scores posted match.
Therefore, if a player maintains a Handicap Index at more than one club, and the clubs do not use a networked computation service, all acceptable scores must be posted at all clubs. (See Decision 6-5/1 .) This will result in the same Handicap Index at all clubs. Failure to post all acceptable scores at all clubs produces a Handicap Index that is not based on the player's best 10 differentials of the last 20 scores and consequently may not be termed a Handicap Index . If a player has a different Handicap Index at different clubs the committee in charge of the competition may require the player to use the lowest Handicap Index when competing with players from more than one club. (See Decisions 6-5/2 < and 6-5/3
Implementation of USGA rules will be applied:
• USGA rule 6b. Stroke Play
In any round of a handicap competition, the competitor must ensure that his handicap is recorded on his score card before it is returned to the Committee. If no handicap is recorded on his score card before it is returned (Rule 6-6b), or if the recorded handicap is higher than that to which he is entitled and this affects the number of strokes received, he is disqualified from the handicap competition; otherwise, the score stands.

Note: It is the player’s responsibility to know the holes at which handicap strokes are to be given or received.
